Powertrain Software & MBD
We have over 30 years of collective experience in developing software for the vehicle powertrain, mainly for gasoline and hybrid vehicles. Our engineers are experts at using both hand generated C code and Matlab/Simulink Model based design techniques that is converted to C code later. Our expertise in this area spans the whole software development V cycle: from the high level requirement phase, to the low level functional and non-functional requirements, to the software design and simulation, test case creation as well as performing testing and verification. We are also experts in the whole vehicle architecture as well as communication protocols like CAN and LIN.
Connected Vehicles & IoT
The Internet of Things has changed the way we think and look at every piece of existing technology. The growing capabilities in computing speeds and data transfer speeds to the cloud allow us to rethink the way we control and monitor technologies.
TBW offers a large experience in the Connected Vehicle space and DSRC. We also have expertise in the IoT space and Web Technologies. We have worked with DSRC technologies and performed use case studies and data analysis for BSM's and communication between vehicles. We helped customers in multiple projects connecting devices to the cloud and sending data using light weight protocols like MQTT and processing that data either offline or directly.

Vehicle Simulation
Our engineers have a large experience in simulation, mainly powertrain and vehicle simulation. We have developed full vehicle simulation models in Matlab, Simulink and Simscape including the torque and physical properties, Fuel consumption, dynamics and electrical properties. Our simulation models are used for a wide range of applications. Some examples are computing fuel efficiency of a potential start/stop system; Compute and estimate of the fuel consumption for certain drive cycles; study battery charge characteristics for start/stop vehicle and many more.
